Andrea Owen - author, speaker, life coach, and mother of two, joins us on the podcast once again this week and opens up about her struggles with drinking. Growing up with a parent who was in recovery from drinking, Owen knew the signs of a functional alcoholic and began to recognize these patterns within herself. But, Owen was able to overcome these struggles, embraced sobriety, and successfully recovered. Owen also discusses the steps you can take if you or a loved one is also struggling with drinking.

  • Getting sober is the first step to dealing with this issue, but the hardest part is recovery. You need to make a conscious and mindful effort to work on improving yourself, your behavior, and your life.
  • If a family member or partner is going through a difficult time with alcohol, you can get support through an organization called Al-Anon.
